The Overview

Indigo Perfumery in Lakewood, Ohio hosts

a “make your own scent” workshop where guests blend and bottle their own fragrance.

Inspired by my own experience attending,

I reimagined the brand with a refreshed

logo and a functional workshop kit.

The Problem

There was a lack of branded materials

to create a memorable and seamless experience. Without assets to guide the process or record scent preferences, participants relied on verbal instructions

and left with just their plain-filled bottle.

In addition, Indigo’s branding felt slightly sterile and missing the brand's creativity.

The Solution

Designing a workshop kit that added both function and brand presence. The system included a refreshed logo, branded box, bottle labels, tester strips, and a brochure with instructions and space to record scents.

Step 1:

Visited Indigo Perfumery and attended the scent workshop.

Step 2:

Developed a creative brief before starting the design.

Step 3:

Worked on creating the visual identity (logo, mood board, etc).

Step 4:

Started designing the main

box that will hold the items.

Step 5:

Sketched ideas for the perfume box packaging, label, testers, and the brochure holder.

Step 6:

Created the brochure that informs and helps the users find their scent combination.

Step 7:

Put together all the different elements for the workshop kit.

The Conclusion

The Conclusion

The redesigned materials turn the workshop into a polished, branded experience. Guests not only leave with their perfume but also with items to remember their scent journey, capturing the function, creativity, and also

the “magic” of Indigo Perfumery’s brand.

Self Reflection

Self Reflection

I’m happy with how this project turned out, especially the balance between function and creative branding. The workshop kit is cohesive and solves the gaps I experienced.

If I were to revisit this project, I would focus on the inside lid of the box. This could have a stronger design while still being functional.
