The Overview

After watching Alun Creative’s workshop Content Creation in the Era of AI, I was inspired to try some of the new AI tools

I learned. With my interest in fashion and retail content, I decided to create a piece

for Altar’d State’s Holiday 2025 season.

Their accessories section currently features simple flat-lay photos. I wanted to explore how AI could re-imagine their holiday socks while maintaining brand consistency.

The Concept

I noticed that Altar’d State’s accessories, particularly their fuzzy socks, are often presented in simple flat-lay photos on their website. I wanted to explore how AI could elevate this type of product content.

In addition to the socks, I also experimented with motion, exploring how animation and AI-assisted movement can add to content.

My Connection

This project draws from my memories. Last year, my mom gave me Altar'd State fuzzy socks for Christmas, and after living away for school and internships, those little comforts (and coming home to my dog) have become a sentimental part of the holidays. I aimed to bring that feeling of home into this concept.

Step 1:

Created a mood board in Midjourney to follow Altar'd State's 2025 holiday aesthetic.

Step 2:

Start to generate imagery

on Midjourney based on

a few of the ideas I had.

Step 3:

Scrolled Pinterest to find inspo imagery to aid ideation.

Step 4:

Moved over to NanoBanana in Higgsfield to generate an image based on the existing products.

Step 5:

Adjusted the background to fit the aesthetic and started to try and get the patterns to match.

Step 6:

Worked through multiple rounds of NanoBanana AI edits until patterns were close to exact.

Step 7:

Upscaled the final image using MagnificAI to reduce any blurry detail and increase clarity.

Step 8:

Moved to Photoshop to edit photos, add text, and then created a mockup in Figma.

Put together all the different elements for the workshop kit.

My Opinion of AI

With AI tools emerging, I think it is important to stay up to date and understand how they work, even if they are not always a fit for a specific project. AI can be a helpful part of the creative process, especially when trying out ideas and building or pitching concepts. I enjoy using these AI tools to brainstorm, test directions, and bring early ideas to life.

At the same time, good design still comes from human thinking, emotion, and intention. AI does not always capture the feeling or clarity a designer has in mind, so I use it as support, not as a replacement for creativity.

The Conclusion

The Conclusion

Overall, I am happy with what I was able to create using AI, and I feel the visuals align with Altar’d State’s Holiday 2025 aesthetic.

The image-generation process required multiple rounds of edits to get close to the real products and the Christmas tree socks were surprisingly the most challenging to recreate out of the three patterns.

This sample project reinforced that AI can be helpful for visualizing ideas and pitching concepts before final product/result.
